A FANtastic Centrepiece Design for New Year's Eve Celebrations!

This is such a lovely design to make. It is not too complicated, and it would make the perfect centrepiece for an elegant New Year's Eve event! Remember, designs like this are easily adapted to suit any occasion, simply choose your focal balloon and then use complimentary balloons and accessories to coordinate with your design.

I opted to use the Qualatex® 18" New Year Black & Gold Fans Microfoil balloon(#89858) as the focal point. Paper fans remain on trend and featuring this balloon gave me the ability to add fans into my design.

Material List

For the pole and base, I used a product called Lomey®, however you could also use Plexipoles™️ as an alternative. Both Lomey and Plexipoles are available from balloon wholesalers and suppliers.

1 x 31" Lomey Clear Pedestal
1 x 9" Lomey Dish
Lomey Adhesive

#85109 - 7" Chrome Silver

It is always good to get a little last minute inspiration, and if you cannot use these designs this year, you can always store the ideas away until next year, when hopefully life will have returned back to normal once again!

New Year's 2020 - A few Ideas for a Lockdown Party

https://www.facebook.com/northstarballoons/?ref=page_internal
Nothing says "Happy New Year" quite like Northstar Balloons!

As with most of 2020, New Years Eve is going to be a little different this year, dependent of course on what country you are in, and the COVID restrictions that you have in place. However, from what I have read in the UK, restaurants and hotels are working hard to create socially distanced ways to ensure that their customers enjoy this annual festivity, even if it is a little different from the usual celebrations!

It is a certainty that people will want to celebrate the end of this turbulent year, even if they plan to stay at home.  This means that decor will play a very important role in the occasion. Let's face it, it wouldn't be New Year's Eve without a glittery decoration or two! Adding the festive touch with fabulous 2021 balloons and balloon decor is an absolute must! Not only will balloons add a sense of fun and excitement, they will also be a perfect backdrop for those New Year's Eve pics!

Here are a few design ideas and products that you can offer to your customers!

Wishing Everyone a Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous 2020!

With Christmas and the holiday festivities already over, it's now time to focus on the exciting New Year that lays ahead!
I don't know about you, but this year has literally flown by! Spring Fair 2019 seems like an eternity ago! Now, I'm surprised to find myself working on the 2020 window display designs, as well as planning some exciting new design classes that I will be teaching in 2020!

Did you make any New Years resolutions? Maybe 2020 is the year that we need to be kinder to ourselves. Let's start the new decade with a positive frame of mind, and try and live our lives to the full!

I would like to end this year by taking the opportunity to thank all those who help me with the Very Best ™️ Balloon Blog! To the lovely Lexi who ensures that my posts are coherent and grammatically correct, and to everyone who has contributed some amazing content to blogposts over this year! I have been writing the blog since 2011, and am excited to see that it still remains one of the top ballooning resources, with views reaching over 2 million this year!

I know that 2020 will be another fabulous year for ballooning education! Some truly sensational events and classes are being offered around the globe, and I hope that I get the opportunity to meet up with some of you then!

Happy New Year!

Have you started your New Year's Eve preparations yet?

It's that time of the year when there is so much going on! We have just celebrated Thanksgiving, Christmas is looming, and New Year's Eve will be here before we know it... and of course Valentine's Day has a habit of sneaking up on us very quickly!

With so many key seasonal decorating opportunities over the next few weeks and months, I thought that it would be a great opportunity to look at some of these holidays and celebrations, and offer some advice and inspiration!

New Year's Eve is one seasonal event that you can be sure there will be many decorating opportunities. hotels, restaurants, public halls, and night clubs to name just a few, will be packed with party goers looking for an amazing evening of fun and celebrations!

In recent years, I had the opportunity to decorate a beautiful London hotel. My brief was to decorate two key areas in the hotel: the very elegant ballroom and the main entrance foyer.

Ballroom Decor
Qualatex® Starpoint balloons proved to be the perfect choice for my decor in this extremely elegant room (see photograph below). We had eight small alcoves to position our decor, four on each side of the room. With the room being filled to capacity with tables and diners, it was important that we kept our decor within the allocated space and not encroaching into the main floor space.

Hotel Ballroom without balloons.

Tip: Ensure that you fully understand what areas of the room are to be decorated. What are your constraints, for example - access points or service tables?

Tapertastic! A few ideas to create beautiful balloon decor working with Qualatex Taper balloons!

Sue Bowler
Taper Flowers created by Sue Bowler & friends
 at the Slovenia Event
With Christmas and New Year fast approaching, it's time to start thinking about the exciting decor you can offer your clients for their events!

Recently I attended the Slovenia Event and was asked if I could create decor for the 'opening' festivities. I had very limited time and was a little unsure how many 'helpers' I would have, so I decided to make decor that would have great visual impact but quick and easy at the same time!
(Just to note, I had a great team in Slovenia who helped me to make these awesome flowers... thank you!)
